Dear Radio Friend,     This week's show features stories from Radio Havana Cuba, Sputnik Radio, and NHK World Radio Japan.        From CUBA- Argentine activist and Nobel laureate Adolfo Perez Esquivel has led a campaign to nominate imprisoned former Brazilian President Lula da Silva for the Peace Prize. The Mexican government has announced it is increasing the number of federal police currently guarding Mexico's southern border to prevent the flow undocumented immigrants from Central America. On Wednesday Miguel Diaz-Canel was nominated as the next president of the council of state of Cuba- as I produce this show this has been made official. The US is preparing a team of lawyers and policy makers to help right-wing Latin American governments to write new laws to impose sanctions on Venezuelan officials and industries.        From RUSSIA- Afshin Rattansi produced a show on the alleged chemical attack in Syria. We will begin  with a press review of Robert Fisk's firsthand article in the Independent, where he was told by a doctor that there was no evidence that a chemical attack had occurred. Afshin then interviews Republican state senator from Virginia, Dick Black, who is opposed to the missile strikes from the US, the UK, and France- he says the chemical attack was staged to perpetuate foreign intervention in the Syrian civil war. Jeremy Corbyn has spoken out against the missile attack and Afshin spoke with MP Chris Williamson on the hypocrisy of calling the attacks humanitarian. He then spoke with author and former politician Andrew Feinstein about who benefitted from bombing Syria.      From JAPAN-  Japanese President Abe and Trump agreed to maintain maximum pressure on North Korea. Then two stories on next week's summit between the Koreas, where permanent peace and an end to the war is sought. The Chinese President will visit N Korea soon- he also lashed out about unilateral US trade restrictions. In Fukushima construction began on a plant to produce hydrogen for use in fuel cell automobiles.             The latest Shortwave Report (April 13) is up at the website http://www.outfarpress.com/shortwave.shtml  in 3 forms- (new) HIGHEST QUALITY (160kb)(33MB), broadcast quality (13MB), and quickdownload or streaming form (6MB) (28:59) Links at page bottom   (If you have access to Audioport there is a highest quality version posted up there {33MB} http://www.audioport.org/index.php?op=producer-info&uid=904&nav=&) PODCAST!!!- feed://www.outfarpress.com/podcast.xml  (160kb Highest Quality) NEW ARTICLE about the Shortwave Report in the Boulder Weekly by Gavin Dahl-http://npaper-wehaa.com/boulder-weekly/2015/03/26/#?article=2478097 links for this week's edition- <  http://www.outfarpress.com/swr180420.mp3  > (33 MB) HIGHEST QUALITY<  http://www.outfarpress.com/swr_04_20_18.mp3   > (13 MB) Broadcast Quality<  http://www.outfarpress.com/swr_04_20_18_24.mp3  > (6 MB) Slow Modem streamingWebsite Page- < http://www.outfarpress.com/shortwave.shtml >       ¡FurthuR!      Dan Roberts  "I wouldn't go to war, as I have done, to protect some lousy investment of the bankers.
