On the first of June, protesters gathered in front of the DC Housing authority to march on the home of councilmember Anita Bonds. Activists were there to demand at least a two-year rent freeze with cancellation of back rent due to the pandemic.

On the 29th of May, the National March 4 Palestine built up at the Lincoln Memorial before filling several blocks of Constitution Ave with marchers. The march ended between the White House and the Washignton Monument, demanding sanctions against Israel for their aggression against the Palestinians.

On the 24th of May (two days before Amazon's annual general meeting), protesters showed up at major Amazon stockholder Blackrock. They brought with them a list of socially responsible votes on Amazon's corporate policies, and attempted to deliver it to Blackrock. Bike cops refused to let protesters in the building but eventually let them post the demands on the wall, possibly to avoid escalation.

On the 21st and again on the 22nd of May, massive group bike rides took to the streets of DC, similar to the DC Bike Parties of the pre-covid era. In the past year, police made no attempt to enforce covid gathering limits against 1st Amendment activities probably for fear of a court using the 1st Amendment to toss ALL the gathering limits. Cultural events (including bike rides) that were not about speech were mostly suspended-until now.

On the 18th of May, protesters took to the streets globally to stand in solidarity with a general strike called by Palestinians thoughout Occupied Palestine. One of these protests began at the Israeli Embassy in DC. Marchers from there took over and closed Connecticut Ave, burned an Israeli flag, stopped on the bridge over Rock Creek for Prayers, and took Lafayette Sq for the first time since Summer 2020.

By the 15th of May, the Black Lives Matter Plaza murel that had been paved over was back on BLM Plaza. Community outrage had accompanied the repaving that removed the original, and there was suspicion this was done while activists were focussed on the Middle East. Now the murel is back

On the 15th of May, one of the global Nakba(catastrophe) marches marking the 73ed anniversary of the start of the occupation of Palestine took place in DC. The march went right up to the Capitol fence.

On the 12th of May, Maryland shared in an East and S US gasoline shortage that may be a taste of things to come-or a flashback to 1979. Over the weekend,a ransomware attack forced Colonial Pipeline to shut down the distribution pipeline that supplies half of all liquid fuels to the South and East US. On Wednesday, gas stations ran out just as the pipeline was resuming operation.

On the 11th of May , a massive protest including a mock tank repurposed from a Colombia rally took to the streets to protest Israel's proposed evictions in Jerusalem and the spiraling violence that has resulted.

Early morning on Tues May 11, DC's Mayor Bowser paved over the Black Lives Matter Plaza lettering on 16th st. She never actually supported BLM as shown by her pro-police, pro-gentrification policies.

Sometime on May 7, unknown activists redecorated the home of the Colombian Ambassador in Washington DC.

As Mayday protests wound down, at least two DC electronic street signs showed hacked messages. One read "MPD are pigs" and the other known modified sign read "Fuck Jason Bagshaw." Bagshaw is famous for among other things commanding police assaults on protesters at 4D after Karon Hylton was chased into traffic and killed by a cop near Ga Ave.

In the week prior to Mayday, a prisoner trapped in the DC Jail's dungeons died. In response, Decarcerate DC and community activists descended on the jail shortly after nightfall on Mayday for another noise demo and teach-in. Part of the teach-in was about the Attica Uprising, a repeat of which is one of the greatest fears of any jailer or warden.

On Saturday, May 1, DC's annual Mayday march began at its traditional Malcolm X Park gathering point and marched to the White House, ending on H st due to the fence still blocking off most of Lafayette Square. It was the 2013 iteration of this same march that so famously stormed the GOP over the Rana Plaza sweatshop building collapse in Bangladesh.

On Mayday, May 1, Biden's 101st day in office, Movimiento Cosecha marched between and rallied at Black Lives Matter Plaza(focussed on the White House), ICE headquarters, and the Washington Monument. Undocumented migrants travelled by bus from as long as 12 hours away to take part in this protest demanding citizenship.

In his first 100 days in office, Biden has taken only one substantiative action to reverse Trump's racist immigration policies: stopping wall construction. Children are still being held in cages and deportations are accelerating. In response, on April 30(Biden's 100th day), Movimiento Cosecha blocked the main car access to the White House for over 6 hours before absorbing 33 reported arrests.

On the 24th of April, Black Lives Matter protesters took to the streets nationally to demand that police departments and policing be abolished. One of these protests was in DC, and during this protest it was pointed out that 1 in 3 Black people killed by a stranger is killed by a cop.

On the 24th of April, 2021 the United States formally recognized this crime as a genocide. Furious, Erdogan 's Turkish Embassy and Ambassador's residence hosted a rally denying the genocide ever took place.
