On the 8th of January, protesters assembled at the DC home of Jeff Bezos (one of many of his homes) for a candlelight vigil to remember Poushawn Brown. At the start of the covid pandemic, she was ordered to test other workers at Amazon with zero protective equipment and died as a result of this shameful refusal to provide any kind of protection. Amazon has refused to pay her family a penny even though this assignment was illegal.
Over the course of 2022, US politics steadily destabilized. The year began pretty much normally but tension was evident and soon began to escalate. Gender issues above all others have predominated as Christian Nationalists and Fascists seek to impose their will.

On the 18th of December, Supreme Court "Justices" Roberts and Kavanaugh got yet another round of protests at their homes. While an unusual number of cops were sitting at the initial assembly point, they took no action against the protesters.

In mid-December 2016, "wanted" posters depicting notorious killer cop Jason Bagshaw appeared on lamp posts around town.
On the 5th of December, Christian fundamentalists again faced off with women's rights and LGBTQ activists in front of the Supreme Court. This time the case in question is a lawsuit brought challenging antidiscrimination laws protecting LGBTQ folks and by extension people of color and almost any other disfavored group. Fundamentalist Christian bakers and artists rallied outside while progressives counterprotested them. The case is 303 Creative LLC v. Elenis
ROCKVILLE, MD (November 30th, 2022) On Monday, Declare Emergency supporter Will Regan was sentenced by Montgomery County Judge Sherri Koch to 60 days in jail, for stopping traffic on the DC Beltway on October 10th. Judge Koch overruled the prosecution’s request for 4 days jail time, and handed down the maximum penalty.
Judge Koch also refused to give Regan credit for 45 days under GPS monitoring with a 7pm-7am curfew, which was imposed for Regan’s release following his October 10th arrest.

On the 29th of November, protesters showed up outside FOX News, opposing the hate they have been spewing. Passing drivers were asked to honk to show their support and many did. After the terrorist attack on Club Q and other recent events, renewed attention is being payed to the recruiters feeding the ranks of hate and religious extremism. One of these is FOX.

On the 22nd of November, protesters again showed up at the home of Mitch McConnell. This time they were there to demand accountability for GOP promotion of anti-LGBTQ hate in the wake of the armed attack on Club Q in Colorado Springs. Protest chants included "DC Don't like Fascists," "2,4,6,8 fascist hate won't make us straight 5,6,7,8 end the anti-trans hate" and many more.

On the 19th of November, members of the Iranian disapora and their supporters once again marched in DC demanding the end of the theocratic regime in Iran. After the kickoff rally protesters marched on the Washington Monument and the White House.

The 16th of November was just one night after Trump's formal announcement that he is running for the White House again. On that night, protesters again returned to the home of "Justice" Amy Coney Barrett, Trump appointee to the court. She also formerly held the title of "handmaid" in the Christian extremist group People of Praise.
Virginia Governor Youngkin just proposed new history standards for all Virginia students. He released them over the weekend and the first hearings are this Thursday, to try to force them through quickly. He proposes to teach Virginia children a lot of falsehoods about Natives and very little mention of Asian, Latinos, or Pacific Islanders. His new standards include genocide denial and that Natives are "immigrants." The new standards teach:

On the 13th of November, the final leg of the Leonard Peltier walk to justice, with stops at the Lincoln Memorial and Washington Monument before finishing the over 1,100 mile walk at the US Capitol. Marchers demanded that Leonard Peltier be released unconditionally from the US prison system, where he has been held hostage for 47 years for a "crime" he did not commit, for supposedly shooting two FBI agents with rounds ballistics proved his weapon could not have fired. Leonard is a political prisoner.

On the 7th of November, infamous anti-trans activist Kellie-Jay Keen showed up in DC as part of her nationwide tour. Things got UGLY in DC. Park Police first demanded pro-trans activists move to a nearby spot, then attacked them and arrested one of them anyway for unknown reasons.

On the 2nd of November, three women from W Va got inside the Supreme Court and shouted down the proceedings. They yelled ""We will restore our freedom to choose - women of America vote." This is one of the only times in all US history SCOTUS proceedings have been forced to pause by disruption inside.
All three were arrested after the fact, with their mission accomplished.
On the 26th of October, with Halloween less than a week away, protesters returned to the homes of Supreme Court "Justices" John Roberts and "Rapey Brett" Kavanaugh.
On the 21st of October, Palestinians and their supporters met at the Washington Momument and marched through the streets of DC. They were protesting a string of raids and seiges of Palestinian cities by the Israeli government.
On the 19th of October, That's Amore restaurant in Rockville hosted an anti-trans hate dinner. Outside, protesters held a dance party featuring music, trans flags, and rainbow flags. The over 60 protesters apparently outnumbered the attendees at the hate event inside

On the 15th of October, protesters showed up at MPD's Special Operation Division (SOD) headquarters. They were protesting police brutality and Jason Bagshaw in particular. Bagshaw is the killer cop that gunned down David "Lazarus" Wilson over the summer. He has been back on the street maybe a week, but even one day is one day too long for a proven killer.
