On the 29th of January, the daily #SwarmtheSenate protests for removal of Donald Trump from office continued, with civil disobedience on the Capitol steps and 40 people arrested. A key demand was that witnesses be called to testify, as trials are supposed to have witnesses and evidence.

On the 24th of January, what used to be the annual Roe V Wade anniversary anti-choice parade marched two days late. Donald Trump spoke at their rally, MAGA hats appeared in the parade(though not all that densely), and flat-out fascists marched in the parade. On the 20th of January, tens of thousands of gun owners gathered near the VA state Capitol to lobby against proposed new gun laws, some warned while wearing rifles that gun confiscation would be resisted by force. While tens of thousands protested the proposed gun laws, extreme-right groups from Trump campaigners to neo-Nazis and a few Confederate flag wavers tried and failed to overshadow or take over the rally.
