On the 20th of January, the streets were mostly quiet as Trump quit the White House and fled to Miami with the rest of the failed coup plotters. A few brave folks celebrated in the streets but most stayed away fearing an attack from the extreme-right. The hate group "official street preachers" showed up at Union Station but was driven off by counterprotesters stripping in front of them.

The 18th of January saw another armed protest in a state capitol, this time in Richmond. The annual 2nd Amendment lobby day organizers were upstaged by militia and Boogaloo Bois open carrying in defiance of Richmond's recent legislation banning firearms at protests. Two days to go to Inauguration.

Fences go up, armed troops deploy in face of Fascist threats to assault Inauguration

On the 15th of January, police agencies began fencing off large parts of downtown DC as they usually do for an Inauguration. In addition, large numbers of armed National Guard troops began showing up in the city. They are intended to protect Biden's Inauguration from armed Trump supporters and outright neo-Nazis, assuming they don't change sides themselves.

That said, it is not a good ideato have an outside inauguration... sharpshooters could be a mile away... in any one of 360 degreesaround the inauguration site... no security could cover all the pointsnonviolence for all beings

Protesters demand expulsion of pro-coup Congressmen on day of Trump's 2nd impeachment

On the 13th of January, the House voted to impeach Donald Trump for a 2nd time. Outside protesters held giant banners demanding that members of Congress who supported the Jan 6 coup attempt be expelled in addition to Trump. Large numbers of cops trailed them, and at at least one point made threats of arrest.

Biden Names Transparency Advocate to Top Regulatory Post

Gary Gensler, former Wall Street regulator will be President-elect Biden's nominee to head the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), according to Reuters. Gensler will lead the agency created after the 1920's stock market crash to protect investors and enforce stability in the banking system.

1. It is ironic that Representative Jim Jordan on January 12th 2021 was yet again projecting onto Democrats a stolen election. Jim Jordan is in office because he sits in perhaps the most gerrymandered district in the nation, called the duck district because it is a caricature of a duck's shape. He would not be in office if liberal Elyria Ohio had not been subdivided. He is indeed at present the chief gander in the duck district.^2.
