Late afternoon on April 9, protesters showed for a symbolic defense of the Embassy of Venezuala from any takeover by the forces of US backed, self-declared "president" Juan Guaido after the OAS voted to recognize his envoy instead of that of the actual government of Venezuala.

Kaiser Permanente CEO's visit to DC for "humanitarian award" draws protest over rate hikes and CEO pay

On the 9th of April, the CEO of health insurer Kaiser Permanente appeared at an upscale hotel in DC. He was there to receive a "humanitarian award." Protesters outside the hotel banged drums and blew whistles, outraged that Kaisier is jacking up their rates while the CEO and top executives get millions in executive pay.

On the 9th of April, a huge crowd celebrated and danced to go-go on U st. What was to be a protest had become a celebration as the enemies of go-go threw in the towel and the music was back on at the 7th and FL Ave MetroPCS.

Go-Go music ban imposed on MetroPCS store draws protest and petitions

On the 7th of April resident of the new Shaw luxury building known as The Shay threatened MetroPCS at 7th and Fl Ave with a lawsuit for playing Go-go music. T-Mobile also reportedly ordered them to stop playing the music, probably in response to the same complain from the same "New Washingtonian." On the 8th of April, supporters of Go-Go music held a protest at the MetroPCS store demanding they be allowed to turn the music back on.

Rent-striking tenants of 1454 Irving backed by supporters rally and march on 14th st

On the 5th of April rent-striking tenants of 1454 Irving St NW rallied at Columbia Heights Civic Plaza and then marched on 14th st.This was the second Friday in a row of these protests. Tenants are withholding rent in opposition to what appears to be an attempt at "eviction by neglect" with mold, broken heat, and pest infestation intentionally not repaired. The landlord has made it clear he wants the tenants OUT. Many have been there since the 1970's and the surrounding area has been gentrified.

Neo-Nazi band "Horna" may have played Sat, April 6 at Filipino Cultural Center in Oxen Hill, MD

"Satanic Black Metal" band Horna with multiple neo-Nazi members had announced a few days before the April 6 show date that they were playing in Baltimore at Diner Latino after being run out of Oxen Hill, MD and Ashburn, VA. Shows have been cancelled in Houston and LA over their neo-Nazi connections

Update Apr 7:There is a report on Twitter that Horna announced hours before showtime that they were actually playing at the Filipino Multicultural Center in Oxen Hill, MD. This was one of the venues that had previously cancelled.

Black Lives Matter protests child detentions, Stop and Frisk at MPD's 1D headquarters

On the 5th of April, Black Lives Matter showed up outside MPD's First Division headquarters at 1st and M sts SW. They were there to protest the normalization of Black kids as young as 11 being subject to arbitrary detention, Stop and Frisk, and being handcuffed. MPD claims these are isolated incidents, Black Lives Matter says otherwise and has the testimony and accounts by parents to back it up.

Rally at White House (and more coast to coast) demand release of full Mueller report

On the 4th of April, several of the big liberal and Democrat-aligned NGO groups held hundreds of rallies from coast to coast demanding that the full Mueller report be released to the public and that Congress get it entirely without redactions. One of the rallies was in front of the White House, where speakers suggested the tiny "summary" released by the attorney general might not even be an accurate assessment of the report's true contents.

Chelsea Manning's lawyers file "grumbles motion" for release

Grand jury resistor Chelsea Manning is being held in solitary confinement for refusing to testify to a grand jury presumably investigating Assange and Wikileaks. On Monday, April 1, her attorneys filed what is known as a "grumbles" motion for her release. This is a motion to show that no amount of incarceration can induce the defendent to testify. Since grand jury holds are required to be "probative" and not "punitive," if the judge agrees Chelsea will never talk, he has to release her.
