Submitted by Luke on Sun, 02/25/2018 - 01:57

On Feb 24th, Mike Cernovich and others associated with the Deploraball were back in DC. They held "A Night for Freedom DC" at The City Club of Washington just a block from the Deploraball site, running the gauntlet of loud anti-fascist protesters to get in and often being photographed. Attempts by the fascists to conceal their venue location ended in failure, with protesters descending on their party.

Submitted by Luke on Mon, 02/05/2018 - 21:34

Feb 5, 2018 was national Transit Equity Day. Here in DC, activists from several organizations stood between the doors of the Wilson Building and councilmember Jack Evan's parked car. Yes, the car he drives as WMATA board chairman instead of using Metro Center (across the street) was parked almost directly in line with the doorway to the Wilson Building, providing the perfect stage for transit advocates. The protest ran 4-5PM, as he normally leaves at about 4:30PM-but today Jack Evans refused to appear.

Submitted by Luke on Wed, 01/31/2018 - 01:41

Trump's State of the Union address drew protesters who lined both probable motorcade routes, booring as his motorcade passed. As soon as it did, protesters turned their backs on Trump's SOTU and left, some dispersing and others marching away. There were even calls for a TV boycott of the speech in an effort to deplatform Trump.

Impeachment, anti-Muslim Ban, GLBTQ marches against Trump join at Trump Hotel

Submitted by Anonymous on Sat, 01/27/2018 - 19:19

The 27th of January was the anniversary of Donald Trump signing Executive Order 13769, also known as Muslim Ban 1.0. This triggered massive airport protests and urban marches a year ago. This year in DC, the march gathered at the White House to oppose Trump's current Muslim Ban, and was met there by the "People's March on Washington," a much larger march, from the WWII Memorial demanding Trump be impeached. Both marched together to Trump Hotel, where they joined with WERK for Peace's "intersectional" GLBTQ dance party.

Jan 20, 2018, much of the Federal government's non-cooercive portions shut down on the anniversary of Trump's Inauguration. ICE, the FBI, and the military are not included in the shutdown. Meanwhile, protesters hit the streets all over DC. There was a satirical vigil for a broken window at the same Starbucks that got trashed on J20-2017, another Women's March, and a culminating banner drop between the flagpoles in front of Union Station.
